This 1964 midcentury modern home was in need of an update; midcentury had gone stale.

Once the shadow and eight-point star breeze blocks were uncovered, drawing inspiration for the rest of the house was a breeze. These elements were incorporated in interior designs, including light fixtures, tile, and wall coverings. The original floor plan was preserved, while crafting a dramatically elegant space with just a hint of kitsch.

Unexpected colors and materials – dark navy carpet, grey-washed cork flooring – blended with timeless classics of terrazzo flooring and laminate cabinets. The result became a comprehensive space that easily flows from room to room.
